What is a Category? #

A category is a way to organize your products. Categories will appear on the homepage and will allow customers to easily filter your products through a dropdown.

Creating a Category #

To create a category, click on the ‘Catalogue’ tab on the left of your dashboard and then click on ‘Categories’.

You will then see your list of current categories, go ahead and now click the ‘create’ button.

You will now see the create a category popup. These are the fields that will form your new category.

TitleWhat will appear as the category name in the drop-down on the home page.
URLThe URL that will be given to this category. This URL will allow customers to visit the category and all of its products directly.
DescriptionA decsription to help differentiate between similarly name categories.
Title TagThe title that will be shown when sharing the URL online on the likes of social media and messaging apps.
Meta DescriptionThe description that will be shown when sharing the URL online on the likes of social media and messaging apps.
Default OrderHow the products of the category will be shown and the order they are in.
ActiveSets if the category is currently active and can be seen by customers.

To then assign a product to a category, click on the ‘category’ field when creating/editing a product and a list of your current categories will appear.
